Girls' Tennis Plays in MAPL Tournament

The Blue Storm girls' varsity tennis team ended its season by competing in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League championship tournament at Blair Academy October 28. Cate Dougherty '25 was the top performer, taking three out of her four matches in the #3 slot. Cate finished the season with an overall record of 15-3, with her only losses coming against Lawrenceville (twice) and Peddie (the team that took the MAPL title).

Head coach Mike Sweeney commented, "Besides Cate, there were good points today from #1 Hisano Enomoto '25, #2 Mogere Nyakoe '25, #4 Ava Shanefelter '26, and the doubles team of Anezka Pospisilova '26 and Ava Marathe '26, but no wins. Frankly, the new structure of the MAPL tournament led to results that didn't accurately reflect the relative strengths of the teams, at least those teams in the bottom five.  Anyway, I thought we played fine, but had a lot of unfavorable draws".

The girls' tennis season is now complete.
