Girls' Lacrosse Falls to Agnes Irwin in PAISAA Quarterfinals

Mercersburg travelled to Rosemont, PA May 19 to take on top-seeded Agnes Irwin in the quarterfinal round of the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association softball tournament. The Owls defeated the Blue Storm by a final score of 16-5.

Agnes Irwin is not only the #1 seed in the PA tournament, they are currently ranked #19 in the nation. Head coach Kristin Ahlgren commented, "We fought hard, stuck together as a team and never gave up."

In their final game at Mercersburg, seniors Zarreen and Zareena Sorho '23 scored two goals each while Linley Hill '23 had the other Blue Storm goal. Hailey Chepren '23 and Emma Hobbs '23 each had one assist as a strong senior class finished out a remarkable run. Scarlett McArthur '24 came up with seven saves in goal.

Coach Ahlgren added, "I was very happy with this final game, and it closes out a wonderful season with a wonderful team! Good luck to Agnes Irwin in the rest of the PAISAA tourney."

Mercersburg concludes its season with a final record of 11-9.
