Girls' Golf Takes 4th in States

Mercersburg ended its girls' golf season by finishing 4th (with a team score of 203) in the PAISAA state tournament May 12, which was held at the Radley Run Country Club in West Chester, PA.

"Leading the way, as she has done many times this year for the Storm, was captain Abby Yang '25 with a 48 that required grit to post a solid score," said head coach Doug Smith.  "Next in line was Captain Amanda Xi '25, with a 49 that again was hard fought. Kelsey Li '26 shot a 52 despite having struggles around the green and Shine Jo '25 fired her competitive low of 54 that continued her strong development throughout the season."

"It was a great season with this team this year," coach Smith continued. "Abby and Amanda are the first four-year girl golfers we have ever had and they were a joy to be around through all the ups and downs. I am also so impressed that Shine has found this form late in the season, it is a remarkable improvement. We have big shoes to fill in the coming years, but all the seniors on this team have laid a solid foundation."
