The Blue Storm girls' varsity and JV basketball teams both defeated visiting Hill School (Pottstown, PA) in Mid-Atlantic Prep League action January 21.

The JV game was a thriller that went into overtime. Jessica Dang '26 was fouled on a three-point attempt at the buzzer in OT, and hit all three foul shots to give Mercersburg the 31-30 win.

In the varsity contest, both teams shot poorly in the first half, which ended with the Blue Storm leading just 13-8. Leilani Isel-Register '24 caught fire in the second half, scoring 11 of her team-high 13 points after the intermission. Mercersburg slowly built the lead to 8-10 points and held on to win 38-31 as Hill tried to rally and foul in the final minutes. Annie Mohr '26 added 9 points for the Storm, which moved to 7-8 overall, 2-2 in the MAPL.

The varsity will go for its third straight win when it hosts St. Maria Goretti (Hagerstown, MD) on Thursday, January 26 at 6 pm. The JV squad hosts McConnellsburg (PA) high school on Wednesday, January 25 at 4 pm.
