Girls' Basketball Rematch at Spring Mills

Just five days after battling in Mercersburg, the Blue Storm girls' varsity and JV basketball teams travelled to Martinsburg, WV on January 31 for a rematch with Spring Mills high school.  Once again, the Cardinals came out on top in both contests.

In the JV opener, Spring Mills controlled the game from start to finish for a 37-15 win. The varsity contest proved to be the toughest test yet for the undefeated (13-0) Cardinals. Mercersburg fell behind 19-5 after the first period, but fought back and cut the deficit to six at one point in the second half. In the end, Spring Mills held on for a 48-38 victory.  Annie Mohr '26 led the varsity with 18 points while Rachel Hull '23 had 6 points and 4 assists and Madison Goodhart '24 had 6 points, 4 assists, and a team-high 7 rebounds.

The JV team jumps right back into action with a February 1 home game against McConnellsburg (PA) high school at 3:30 pm while the 9-10 varsity squad plays at St. Stephens and St. Agnes School (Alexandria, VA) on Friday, February 3 at 5:45 pm.
