Germantown Academy Tops Girls' V Lacrosse

Germantown Academy (Fort Washington, PA) raced out to a 13-2 halftime lead and held on to defeat visiting Mercersburg 19-10 in a girls' varsity lacrosse game May 10.

The Blue Storm had a tough time in the first half with Zareena Sorho '23 scoring their only two goals. In the second half, Mercersburg outscored the Patriots 8-6 and "we showed a lot of fight," said head coach Kristin Ahlgren. A highlight of the second half was Zarreen Sorho '23 scoring four goals including #100 (and later #101) for her career. Zarreen added one assist and secured an impressive total of eleven draw controls for the game. Zareena also ended up with four goals and contributed two assists. Hailey Chepren '23 (one goal, two assists) and Linley Hill '23 (one goal, one assist) completed the scoring while Scarlett McArthur '24 picked up six saves in goal.

Mercersburg (10-7) travels to Hill (Pottstown, PA) for its final regular season game on Saturday, May 13 at 1 pm.
