Mercersburg competed in the 33rd annual Dover Eagle Invitational December 1, hosted by Dover (PA) Area high school. Luntu Radebe '25 took second place in the girls' event and outscored all the male divers while captain Alex Van Ess '24 finished third on the boys' side.

Also scoring for the girls' were captain Eliana Sandy '24 in 11th place and rookie Avery Liu '25 in 13th. Solie Steiger '25 would have finished in 8th place in her first ever diving competition, but a computer error left her off the registration sheet, so she was only able to compete with exhibition status.

Interim head coach Frank Betkowski said, "This is always our first meet of the season, and it's really about the divers competing in front of judges and getting the butterflies out of their stomachs in preparation for other meets. With less than three full weeks of practice so far, I am more than satisfied with how the divers performed."

Next up is a meet at MAPL rival Hill School (Pottstown, PA) on Wednesday, December 13 at 4 pm.
