Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, PA) blanked visiting Mercersburg 8-0 in a first round Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association baseball tournament game May 18.

The seventh-seeded Churchmen were on top 5-0 before the #10 Blue Storm collected their first hit as starting pitcher Derek Boyd-Volz retired 12 of the first 13 hitters to come to the plate. Mercersburg loaded the bases with two outs in the fifth but was unable to push across any runs. In the end, Episcopal only had one more hit than the Storm (5-4), but their five hits included two triples and a double, and one of those triples came with the bases loaded.

Mercersburg finishes its baseball season with a final record of 12-8.
