Divers Make A Splash At Dover

For the first time since before the pandemic, Dover Area High School was able to host the Eagle Invitational on December 2.  Mercersburg put in a very strong showing at the event as Luntu Redebe '25 took first place in her division, and three other divers were also place-winners.

Redebe won the sophomore girls' competition with a score of 183.35, which not only won her division, but was the third best score of any diver, male or female.

Clare Ip '23 finished second among senior girls with score of 136.30 while Alex Van Ess '24 (2nd place, junior boys, 153.75), and Davis Noone '23 (3rd place, senior boys, 120.30) also placed. Eliana Sandy '24 and Olivia Short '23 had solid performances, but did not make the podium.

Interim head coach Frank Betkowski said, "I am excited for Luntu, but I am also very pleased with everyone's performances.  This was the team's first meet of the year.  Our athletes dove well, providing a solid foundation on which to build for the remainder of the season."

The Blue Storm will host a meet against arch-rival Hill (Pottstown, PA) on Saturday, December 10.
