The boys' varsity tennis team defeated host Washington high school (Charles Town, WV) by a score of 6-3 April 10.

Mercersburg opened by taking two of the three doubles matches with Max Zhang '26 and Simon Brennan '26 taking the #1 match while Ben Cho '24 and Michael Zhang '26 rallied from 5-1 down to pull out a dramatic 9-7 win at #3. In singles, the Storm took four of six with Max Zhang (#1), Brennan (#2), Eric Wang '26 (#4) and Michael Zhang (#6) all winning convincingly.

Head coach Matt Mehler commented, "This was a tremendous, hard-fought victory over a competitive Washington squad. Great comeback Ben and Mike, and cudos to singles players Simon Brennan, Max Zhang, and Eric Wang for their stellar play. A big shout out to Oscar Su '25, who fought valiantly, though in defeat. All four of these players are on the rise and will only get better as the season progresses."

The Storm is 2-2 with a trip to MAPL foe Pennington (NJ) on tap for Saturday, April 13. Match time is 1 pm.
