The boys' varsity squash team won all four of its matches across the weekend of December 7 and 8 to take the team title in Mercersburg's own Flanagan Invitational Tournament.
The Storm swept Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh) and Mary Institute and St. Louis (MO) Country Day 7-0 in the early rounds before battling past St. Paul's (Brooklandville, MD) 4-3 in the semifinals. On Sunday the boys' regained top form in the championship match, blanking MAPL rival Hill School (Pottstown, PA) 7-0 to claim the title.
Noe Aceves '25, Rayyan Khan '27, and Dior Mitchell '26 each went four for four across the weekend while Sid Shah '26 and Kyle Hwang '26 won all three matches they participated in. Finn Mauro '27 went two for two in his matches.
“Overall the boys did as expected" said head coach Dominic Benacquista, "with our lower ladder guys getting a lot of playing time. The team is still building so this was yet another step in the right direction."
Mercersburg visits Lancaster (PA) Country Day School for a 4 pm match on Wednesday, December 11.
