Mercersburg’s boys’ varsity squash team defeated the visiting University School [Cleveland, OH] and Lancaster Country Day School in matches February 19 in the Davenport Squash Center. The Blue Storm knocked off the visitors from Ohio (who will play in the Division 2 bracket in next weekend’s US Squash High School Nationals) by a 6-3 count and defeated LCDS 7-2.
Head coach Ryan Tyree spotlights a resounding win and final performance for Evan Howley ’22 (who played his final competitive match on campus at No. 8 on the ladder).

The Blue Storm (8–4 overall) now prepares for the US Squash High School Team Championships (also known as Nationals) February 25–26 in Philadelphia. Mercersburg will compete in the Division 3 bracket, which is two spots higher than in its last appearance in 2020. The Storm boys will compete at the University of Pennsylvania Squash Courts.
