Boys' V Soccer Blanks Lawrenceville

The boys' varsity soccer team won its second straight 3-0 decision by defeating host Lawrenceville (NJ) on October 5.

Gustavo Lisboa '26 scored the first goal on a diving header off a free kick from Ewan McDowell '26. Pedro Abranches '26 made it 2-0 soon after with an assist from Max Strauss '25. The Big Red had a chance to cut into the lead when it was awarded a penalty kick late in the first half, but Keegan Roddis '25 made a diving stop to deny the opportunity. Shortly before halftime, Simon Brennan '26 headed in goal #3 after a perfectly placed corner kick by Grant Wilkinson '26, and neither team could score in the second half.

"In addition to his penalty save, Keegan Roddis '25 kept the clean sheet with several tremendous saves and punch outs," said head coach Skyler Clark. "The entire back line consisting of Pedro Abranches '26, Arnav Rao '26, Simon Brennan '26, and Noah Drenner '26 should also be credited with keep the ball out of our own net. The bench played a key role as well by staying positive throughout and giving us energy whenever our heads dropped."

"It was a well deserved victory," coach Clark continued. "The boys have been staying positive and working hard every day despite having a slow start to the season. We competed with grit and we won with class. We’re looking to keep the positive momentum going with a home game against Cumberland Valley Christian School."
