Boys' Golf Tops Bullis

The Mercersburg boys' golf team traveled to Whitetail Golf Resort for a dual match against the Bullis School (Potomac, MD) to start the spring portion of the season, and came away with a 170-189 victory.

Head coach Doug Smith reports that "The day was cold and extremely blustery with sustained winds of 25+ mph throughout the round. Isaiah Marseille '24 picked up right where he left off in the fall with a sparkling 37 on the day to win the medalist by six strokes. The next two scores for the Storm were co-captains Jason Jones '24 and Argyle Downes '24, who both carded respectable 43's despite struggles with the conditions. Ryan Kothari '25 was able to play his usual steady game and posted a 46 to round out the scoring."

"It feels good for the team to be back out on the course," Coach Smith added,"and though we had hoped for better weather, it is important to get the first match under our belt.  Isaiah shooting +1 on a day like that is truly outstanding and shows the toughness that he possesses.  Happy to get the season rolling--we will build from here."

Next up for the Storm is a match against Bishop O'Connell high school (Arlington, VA) at the East Potomac Golf Links (Washington, DC) on Saturday, March 23 at noon.
