Boys' Golf Nips Bullis by Two Strokes

Mercersburg edged Bullis (Potomac, MD) 195-197 in a boys' golf match played at the Falls Road Golf Course May 10.

Each team sent eight golfers into action and counted the top five scores. Jason Jones '24 was the leading scorer for the Blue Storm on the day with a 36 that included a hole out for eagle on a par 4. Argyle Downes '24 recovered from some early stumbles to shoot a 37 and co-captain Daniel Zhong '23 was next with a rock solid 38. Co-captain Ethan Xin '23 was right behind with a 39 and Ryan Kothari '25 posted a 45 to make the scoring column for the first time this season.

"This was a great match to get in and Bullis shot very well also," said head coach Doug Smith.  "I am thrilled for Jason to get the low score on the day and it shows just how much he has been working on his game. We have had trouble throughout the year posting a fifth score and Ryan really came through with his round. He works very hard and shot his best round of the year today."

The Blue Storm finishes its season on Saturday, May 13 with a match at the Bayside Resort Golf Club in Selbyville, MD against Landon School (Bethesda, MD).
