Mercersburg competed against the host team from Hill and four other Eastern PA schools at a boys' and girls' track meet in Pottstown May 6.
Team scores were not kept, but several Blue Storm athletes had strong performances. For the girls' Hannah King '23 won both the 100M hurdles and the high jump, and placed third in the 300M Hurdles. Anne Sehon '25 won both the 1600M and the 800M. Maddie Goodhart '24 won the 400M Dash, and placed second in the javelin and third in the discus while Erika Sowah '24 took second in both the triple jump and the long jump.
In the boys' competition Jinwoo Kim '23 had another great day as he won the discus and placed second in the Javelin with a personal record that ranks him second in the state this year among independent school athletes. Arnav Rao '26 won the 400M dash while Winston Watkins '25 won the 1600M and Bryce Brown '24 took the 3200M.
"It was a great meet leading up to the MAPL Championship," said head coach Nikki Walker. "We are on the track with a few athletes on Monday in Greencastle, then on Saturday we head to Lawrenceville for the MAPL Championship."

Several Mercersburg athletes will compete at a local meet at Greencastle (PA) high school on Monday, May 8 at 3:45 pm and the entire team will suit up for the MAPL Championship in Lawrenceville (NJ) on Saturday, May 13 at 1 pm.
