For the second straight year, Mercersburg Academy hosted the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Wrestling Tournament (PAISWT) February 18, and five Blue Storm wrestlers qualified for the National Prep Wrestling Championships in Upper Marlboro, MD on February 24 and 25. Malvern Prep (Malvern, PA) won the team competition at the PAISWT event.

One particular highlight from the weekend was Mercersburg's Hayden Shirk '24 picking up his 100th career victory.

The list of Mercersburg place winners included:

Matt Wang '24--8th place at 185 pounds.

The following 7th place finishers serve as alternates to the National Prep event, and will compete if any of the top six are unable to participate.

Sean Flaherty '26--7th place at 106.
Amon Yamamoto '26--7th place at 120.
Holden Walker '23--7th place at 165.

The following wrestlers qualified automatically by finishing 6th or better.

Alex Forrester '23--6th place at 132.
Hayden Shirk '24--6th place at 144.
Luke Hendricks '24--3rd place at 215.

Cocona Yamamoto '25 and Page Starkey '24 also qualified for the girls' tournament.
