Mercersburg rallied for a 16-6 win over visiting Shalom Christian Academy (Chambersburg, PA) May 9.

Shalom scored three in the first and two in the third to build an early 5-1 lead, but the Blue Storm bats came alive and they pushed across six in the fourth, four more in the fifth, and three in the bottom of the sixth to build a 10-run lead and end the game via the mercy rule. Arjun Patel '23 scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

Chris Tompkins '23 and Francis Betkowski '23 shared the pitching duties with Betkowski giving up no runs in 2.2 innings of relief work. Caleb Newcomer '23 had three of Mercersburg's 15 hits while Danny Adusei-Poku '23, Augie Bennett '23, Gavin Williams '23, Sam Menendez '25, and Patel had two each. Williams drove in four runs with Bennett driving in three more.

The Blue Storm are now 10-6 and hit the road for a game at St. Maria Goretti (Hagerstown, MD) on Wednesday, May 10 at 4:30 pm.
