Baseball Team Rallies Past Southern Huntingdon

The Blue Storm varsity baseball team scored eight runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to break a 3-3 tie and defeated Southern Huntingdon high school 11-4 in a game played on Cannon Field April 26.

Gavin Williams '25 hit a two-run homer in the third inning and had a bases-loaded double to drive in three more runs in the 6th. Williams had three of Mercersburg's low total of just five hits, but the Blue Storm drew eleven walks and four HBP to get runners on base. Chris Tompkins '23 had a quality start on the mound, pitching 5 solid innings and giving up just two earned runs. Sam Menendez '25 came on in relief and picked up the win by pitching the sixth and seventh.

Mercersburg is now 8-4 with a MAPL doubleheader at Lawrenceville (NJ) on Saturday, April 29 beginning at 1 pm.
