Ahlgren Reaches 100 Points in Girls’ V Lax Win

Bridget Ahlgren ’22 joined the 100-point club for her Mercersburg girls’ lacrosse career with the first of her eight goals in the Blue Storm’s 16-6 win over Mid-Atlantic Prep League rival Peddie April 23 in Hightstown, NJ.

Ahlgren entered the game with 99 points over her four-year career and helped Mercersburg improve to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in MAPL play while earning its third consecutive victory. (With eight goals and one assist in the Peddie game, she is now at 108 points with five regular-season games still to play.)

Also for the Blue Storm, Zareena Sorho ’23 scored three goals and had two assists, Zarreen Sorho ’23 had a goal and 3 assists, Savannah Poe ’23 and Linley Hill ’23 scored one goal and had two assists each, Sammy Titus ’23 tallied a goal and an assist, and Hailey Chepren ’23 added a single goal. 

Leilani Isel-Register ’24 had six saves in goal for Mercersburg.

The most recent Mercersburg girls’ lacrosse player to break the 100-point plateau was Ahlgren’s older sister, Jill ’19, who accomplished the feat during her senior year in 2019. 

Mercersburg stays in the MAPL for its next contest, which will be at home next Saturday, April 30, against Lawrenceville at Regents’ Field. Face-off is at 1 p.m.
