Whether you’re trying to connect with other professionals in your field, recruiting for a job opening, or looking for a job yourself, the Mercersburg Academy Alumni and Parent Network on LinkedIn is a great place to start. By joining this group, you can search for job opportunities, ask questions, and strengthen your professional network with Mercersburg alumni who represent a host of industries and career fields.
Volunteer Opportunities
Mercersburg relies on a strong network of alumni who give of their time to support the extraordinary Mercersburg experience. Volunteers help organize class reunions, participate in phonathons, serve as campus speakers, and much more. Consider making a difference for Mercersburg by becoming a volunteer! Please contact the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations at 800-588-2550 or alumni@mercersburg.edu for more information about the following opportunities.
Alumni ambassadors represent their graduating class and keep classmates in touch with each other and with the school by collecting class notes and updated contact information and sharing news from campus.
Members of the Alumni Council serve as ambassadors for the school, building relationships with alumni and students. Learn more about the Alumni Council.
Class agents represent their graduating class and work to keep their classmates engaged with Mercersburg in support of the Annual Fund. For more information about serving as a class agent, email alumni@mercersburg.edu.
Phonathon volunteers make personal connections with fellow alumni by calling from campus or home and encouraging support of the Annual Fund.
These volunteers make phone calls to thank donors for their gifts to Mercersburg and to share the school’s gratitude for their generosity.
Regional event volunteers assist in choosing the date, location, and programming for Mercersburg’s off-campus events. They also contact fellow alumni and friends to encourage attendance at the events.
Each reunion class needs a committee of leaders to help promote the reunion and plan programs and activities. Contact Jenn Flanagan Bradley ’99 to learn more and to volunteer.
Alumni are encouraged to serve as experts for or mentors to students in a variety of academic pursuits. For example, all seniors are required to complete one of two academic capstone programs before they graduate—MAPS (Mercersburg’s Advanced Program for Global Studies) and Springboard. Alumni serve as mentors to MAPS students, offer their places of business for Springboard class tours, and serve on the panels that evaluate students’ year-end presentations.
