Digital Illustration

This class provides students the opportunity to study and explore digital illustration. Students will learn how to build a digital illustration using Adobe Illustrator and Flash Animation. Students will work on self-directed and commercial art projects. They will learn skills to research and prepare for a large creative project. Students will draw using pressure-sensitive pen tablets. They will have the opportunity to create character, landscape, architectural, and abstract art design while building a foundation in the principles and elements of art and design.

Students will develop a portfolio that demonstrates technical, design and conceptual skills. They will develop their artistic eye using various design techniques like the Rule of Thirds and the Fibonacci Series.
