In its first game of the season (and its first official contest since May 2019), Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team dropped a 9–5 decision at host Hill April 17 in Pottstown, PA.

Hill led 7–3 after the first half, and the teams played the second half to a 2–2 stalemate. The score remained 8–5 in favor of the host Blues for more than 21 minutes in the second half.

Bridget Ahlgren ’22 scored four of Mercersburg’s five goals, with Zareena Sorho ’23 adding the other tally. Harper Bumgardner ’23 had two assists, and Liz Kendrick ’21 provided an assist.

Leilani Isel-Register ’24 had a great start to her high-school career, notching seven saves in goal.

"We looked very good, considering it was our first game in over a year," Mercersburg head coach Kristin Ahlgren said. "We had to get a game in to see where we need work, and now we have great feedback to build from as we prep for our next game."

The Blue Storm (0–1) heads south to visit Virginia Episcopal School Saturday, April 24, for a 1 p.m. start in Lynchburg, VA.

The boys’ varsity lacrosse team, with a very young roster, fell 21–0 to Hill in its opener April 17. The Storm (0–1) travels to play Episcopal High School Saturday, April 24, at 2 p.m. in Alexandria, VA.
