IPSL Meet Goes to Storm Boys’ XC

Mercersburg’s boys’ cross country team took five of the top six individual spots at the Independent-Parochial School League Triangular, which was held October 19 on the Mercersburg campus. Mick Lorenger ’22 won the race in a time of 18:11.39.

The Blue Storm (19 points) ran past St. Maria Goretti (42 points) and St. James (66 points) in a matchup of local rivals. 

Goretti’s Isaiah Hamilton (18:38.39) placed second, followed by a quartet of Mercersburg runners: Josh Terris ’22 (18:43.23, 3rd), Winston Watkins ’25 (18:57.37, 4th), Cole Smith ’23 (19:45.66, 5th), and Oscar Su ’25 (20:03.49, 6th).

Other Mercersburg finishers included Justin An ’23 22:10.94, 13th), Mikahel Martínez-Arocho ’25 (22:21.39, 14th), Alan He ’23 (22:45.05, 15th), Tomas Burianek ’25 (23:33.95, 16th), Osa Iyoha ’22 (23:39.78, 17th), and Zane Arky ’23 (23:44.77, 18th)

Moses Warui was the top St. James runner (20:30.85, 8th).

The Storm is back in action at the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championships Saturday, October 27, at 1 p.m. in Pottstown, PA.
