Spend the Night on Campus
Welcome to historic North Cottage at the Prentiss Alumni and Parent Center! Originally constructed in 1838 and serving as the home of Mercersburg’s first six headmasters, North Cottage completed renovations in 2016 and now offers three beautiful guest rooms available by reservation for parents of current students and for alumni who are visiting campus.
To reserve a room, please review the information below and contact the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations at 800-588-2550 or 717-328-6100.
North Cottage guest accommodations are available at single or double occupancy for alumni and for parents of current students. Guests may reserve one room at a time. Weekend reservations require a two-night minimum stay, and all stays are limited to three consecutive nights.
Reservations will be accepted within 30 days prior to an on-campus visit, and accommodations are available when Mercersburg is in operation and offices are staffed. Please note that rooms may not be reserved for Family and Alumni Weekend, Commencement, and other key school dates.
Internal departments at Mercersburg should contact the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations about booking rooms for official campus guests.
Rooms are available for $125 per night; payment is required at time of reservation. Payment is non-refundable and will be credited to the individual as a restricted gift in support of North Cottage maintenance if cancellation occurs.
The fee includes breakfast in Ford Hall when school is in session. Lost keys and fobs will be assessed a $15 fee.
Mercersburg is a tobacco-free and alcohol-free campus. Guests are kindly asked to refrain from these substances on campus and in guest rooms and spaces. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged for the cost of restoring rooms to a smoke-free condition.
Check-in is between 3 and 4:30 p.m., and check-out is between 8 and 11 a.m. Guests arriving after 4:30 p.m. or on weekends should call Campus Safety at 717-328-1111. Guests departing before 8 a.m. or on weekends may deposit their key or fob in the brass mailbox on the hallway table.
Accommodations include a queen or king bed, linens, towels, hair dryer, sundries (e.g., soap, shampoo, and conditioner), basic cable television, and Wi-Fi.
Guest rooms are intended to offer a convenient place to stay on campus but should not be considered a full-service operation, as there will be no housekeeping or room service. Should a problem arise (heating or air conditioning difficulty, plumbing issue, a disturbance, etc.) please contact Campus Safety at 717-328-1111.
Parking is available behind the Prentiss Alumni and Parent Center at North Cottage and in the parking lot across McFarland Road. A parking pass will be included in your check-in materials and should be displayed on your vehicle dashboard.
A visitor badge, which serves as your fob access to North Cottage, will also be included in your check-in materials. Please keep this badge with you while on campus.
