Giving Societies

Every gift makes the Mercersburg Academy experience even more extraordinary for the students of today and tomorrow.

Giving societies recognize donors for their generosity, sustained support of the school and commitment to establishing their legacy at Mercersburg.

William Mann Irvine Society

Members of the William Mann Irvine Society are leadership donors that provide essential philanthropic support. WMIS members contribute 90 percent of the Annual Fund dollars every year, which ensures Mercersburg’s place as one of the top independent schools in the country.

The McDowell Society honors those whose cumulative gifts to the school, including documented bequests, equal or exceed $1 million. McDowell Society members have positioned Mercersburg as a leader among independent boarding schools.

Marshall & Irving Alliance

Founded in 1993, the school’s centennial year, the Marshall & Irving Alliance honors those who have made a provision for Mercersburg through their estate or a life income arrangement. Gifts through one’s estate are a meaningful endorsement of Mercersburg’s values and spirit.

Torchbearer

A Tourchbearer is someone who has supported the Annual Fund for three or more consecutive years. A simple, convenient way to become a Torchbearer is to schedule a recurring gift. This allows a gift to be divided into manageable increments, providing the school with an important reliable source of income. Contact the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations at 717.328.6100 to set up your recurring gift.
