Kyla Moore ’24 and Susan Concordia ’22 scored first-half goals for Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity soccer team to force a 2-2 deadlock after the first half, but host Blair exploded for five second-half goals in a 7-2 win over the Blue Storm October 16 in a Mid-Atlantic Prep League contest in Blairstown, NJ.

Moore’s persistent play early on led to the game’s first goal, which came off an assist from Cate Vickery ’22. Blair equalized quickly before Concordia hit a beautiful corner shot that dropped behind the Bucs’ keeper on the near post.

In the second half, Blair came out and played a new game, finding holes in the center of the field, leading to five goals and the 7-2 final.

"Kyla and Peyton Gesell ’22 both played extremely smart soccer and showed resilience on the pitch," said Mercersburg head coach Kristen Pixler.

Mercersburg (7-6) hosts Bishop Walsh High School Tuesday, October 19 (4:30 p.m.).
