Taylor Chepren ’21 scored the only goal of the second half to lift Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team to a 7–6 win over visiting Episcopal High School May 8 on Regents’ Field.

Chepren’s game-winner came on a free-position opportunity with seven minutes to play. She beat the keeper low to give Mercersburg (3-1) its third straight win to finish the 2021 campaign.

The game was the final contest for Blue Storm seniors Chepren, Addie Geitner ’21, Liz Kendrick ’21, Madi Norris ’21, and Kate Prentiss ’21.

Both the girls’ and boys’ varsity lacrosse games May 8 were dedicated to raising awareness of Morgan’s Message, a nonprofit organized in memory of former Duke University women’s lacrosse player Morgan Rodgers which is dedicated to reducing the stigma of mental-health issues within the student-athlete community. Mercersburg students purchased T-shirts and stickers in support of Morgan’s Message; all proceeds will benefit the nonprofit.
