Girls’ V Lacrosse Cruises Past St. James

Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team put it all together for a 23–4 win over local rival St. James in a road contest May 3 in Hagerstown, MD.

Ten different Blue Storm players scored on the day, led by Linley Hill ’23 (four goals, six assists) Bridget Ahlgren ’22 (six goals, one assist), and Zarreen Sorho ’23 (four goals, one assist). Ahlgren, who reached the 100-point plateau for her career earlier this season, now has 99 career goals. 

Other players with their names in the scorebook included Savannah Poe ’23 (two goals, three assists), Sammy Titus ’23 (one goal, three assists), and Cameron Dotson ’23 (two goals, one assist), as well as Hailey Chepren ’23, Isabel Su ’23, Maddie Schermerhorn ’22, and Nora Smith ’24 (one goal apiece) and Rachel Hull ’23 (one assist).

Leilani Isel-Register ’24 made four saves in goal to help the Storm improve to 7–5 on the season.

Mercersburg has won four of its last five contests, and visits Madeira for the annual M Cup matchup between the schools Thursday, May 5, at 5 p.m. in McLean, VA.
