Girls’ V Lacrosse Beats NCS, Now 3-0

Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team won its third game in as many tries this season March 29 when the Blue Storm went down to Washington, D.C., and defeated host National Cathedral School, 21-12.

The Storm (3-0) trailed 7-4 in the first half before scoring the final three goals of the half, and then came out on fire in the second. 

Bridget Ahlgren ’22 scored eight goals and had an assist. Zareena Sorho ’23 scored six goals, and Zarreen Sorho ’23 and Hailey Chepren ’23 each had two goals and three assists. Savannah Poe ’23 tallied a team-high four assists. Leilani Isel-Register ’24 had nine saves in goal. 

Mercersburg has a quick turnaround, with a game Wednesday, March 30, at home against Fairmont (WV) Senior High School on Regents’ Field (5 p.m.).
