Girls’ Cross Country Records Several PRs at Penn Track XC

Greta Lawler ’23, Linley Hill ’23, and Paula Luruena Marquez ’23 posted lifetime personal records to lead Mercersburg’s girls’ cross country team at the season-opening Penn Track XC Invitational September 11 at Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA.

The Blue Storm finished 11th in the crowded 18-team field, with Lawler taking 27th (22:20.20) to lead the way for Mercersburg. Anne Sehon ’25 posted the second-best time (22:53.10) for the Storm, good for 33rd.

Hill’s PR was 27:20.60 and Luruena Marquez’s was 27:39.21.

"I am really pleased with how our team stepped up, given that we lost five of our top seven runners from last year," Mercersburg head coach Betsy Cunningham said. "Overall, it was a fantastic day to race."
