Football Knocks Off Delco Christian

Campbell Prentiss ’20 threw for three touchdowns and ran for another while Jackson Schermerhorn ’21 accounted for more than 200 yards of total offense while scoring three touchdowns as Mercersburg’s football team defeated Delaware County Christian School, 48-26, in Keystone State Football League action September 21 in Mercersburg.

Prentiss was 8-of-14 passing for three touchdowns and 130 yards, hitting Aiden Nelson ’23 twice for TDs and connecting with Schermerhorn for another score.  Damien Mahanama ’20 also scored to pace the Blue Storm (1-1). Coach Andy Brown’s rush offense found its rhythm, grinding out 265 yards on the day to earn Brown his first win at Mercersburg, as well as the program’s inaugural victory since moving to the 8-player game at the start of 2019.

Delco Christian (1-1) pulled to within 26-20 in the third quarter, but Mercersburg responded with three straight sustained scoring drives to put the game out of reach. 

The Storm travels to Valley Forge Military Academy (0-2) Saturday, September 28, for the first of three consecutive road contests. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. in Wayne, Pa.
