Five Seniors to Join College Athletic Ranks

A quintet of athletes in Mercersburg Academy’s Class of 2021 announced March 15 where they have chosen to continue their academic and athletic careers at the college level. 

The group includes Taylor Chepren ’21 of Mercersburg, PA (lacrosse, Marymount University); Tom Flanagan ’21 of Norwich, NY (basketball, St. Lawrence University); Ava Hull ’21 of Mercersburg, PA (basketball, Swarthmore College); Liz Kendrick ’21 (lacrosse, Vassar College); and Andrew Yuen ’21 (swimming, Amherst College).

All five institutions are members of the NCAA’s Division III.

Fellow Mercersburg senior Kiersten Donnelly ’21 was the first member of the Class of 2021 to announce a college commitment; she signed a national letter of intent in November 2020 to join the swim team at the University of New Hampshire.

Since 2016, Mercersburg student-athletes have committed to further their athletic careers (in 21 different sports) at 75 different institutions of higher learning.
