Mercersburg’s field hockey team dropped a hard-fought contest to Mid-Atlantic Prep League power Lawrenceville, 2–0, in a game played October 9 on Regents’ Field as part of the school’s Family Weekend.

The visiting Big Red scored in the first two minutes on a lifted ball that just dropped in behind Mercersburg keeper Zareena Sorho ’23, who had nine saves. Neither team could score until the final two minutes of the second half, when Lawrenceville connected for an insurance goal.

"The entire team played an excellent game," said Blue Storm head coach Kristin Ahlgren.

Mercersburg (4–3, 0–2 MAPL) visits Foxcroft Tuesday, October 12. The game begins at 4:30 p.m. in Middleburg, VA.
