A pregame elbow bump between the teams

Kelly Powell ’22 scored five goals and Virginia Jones ’21 added three goals to lead the Blue Team to a 12–6 win over the White Team in an intrasquad field hockey contest October 24 played as part of the Blue/White Series on Regents’ Field.

Powell had a first-half hat trick to power the Blue squad to a 6–1 halftime advantage. She and fellow Mercersburg newcomer Ola Kwasniewski ’21 (who added a goal of her own) both turned in strong performances in the small-side contest, which was played with five players per side.

Powell and the White Team’s Madi Norris ’21 both tallied a goal worth two points in the contest’s special format, which awarded one point for a regular goal and two points for a goal that hit the side board or side netting of the goal.

Sisters Taylor Chepren ’21 (White) and Hailey Chepren ’23 (Blue) had two goals apiece on the opposing rosters. Cameron Dotson ’23 added two tallies for the White squad.
