Hisano Enomoto ’25 took third place in the #1 singles flight and the pairing of Izzy Jones ’22 and Sam Jacobs ’22 placed third in the doubles flight to lead Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity tennis team at the season-ending Mid-Atlantic Prep League championships, which the Blue Storm hosted on campus October 30.

Enomoto had a successful conclusion to her first high-school tennis season by compiling a 2–1 mark. She defeated Peddie's Courtney Cane, 8–0, in the first round, and after a semifinal loss to Lawrenceville’s Sabrina Yeung (the eventual champion), Enomoto swept Hill’s Romina Villareal 8–0 to place third in the top singles flight.

Jones and Jacobs defeated the Hill team of Carrington Bernabei and Mia Jacobs in the first round, fell to the eventual champions from Lawrenceville in the semifinal, and knocked off the Hun squad in the third-place match.

Isabel Su ’23 and Camille Smith ’22 each won a match in their singles draws (Su played at #2 and Smith at #4).

Lawrenceville swept all four singles flights and the doubles draw to top the team standings.

"It was a good day for us, despite two heartbreaking losses that would have pushed us to third place as a team," Mercersburg head coach Mike Sweeney said.
