A milestone worth marking.
This year, Mercersburg Academy is celebrating a number of historic anniversaries. Among them is the 50th year of coeducation at Mercersburg. As part of this conversation, we invite our alumni and parents to provide their input, experience, and expertise.
As part of the program, we are compiling a video featuring the stories of our alumni and parent community that we intend to share publicly. We encourage you to participate by sharing your story with us in a short personal video (90 seconds maximum). Consider one or more of the following prompts as a starting point for your discussion.
1. How has your experience at Mercersburg shaped your understanding of gender and gender equity?
2. How has your concept of gender equity changed over time, and what insights, if any, would you like to share with current and future Mercersburg students?
3. How have you used what you learned to make a difference in the world related to gender diversity, equity and inclusion? In your workplace? Community? Family life?
4. What are you doing now that supports equity and inclusion of all gender identities?
Your simple video captured with a smartphone or other device will be authentic and meaningful; it is not necessary to make a "professional quality" video. All submissions should be received by Friday, December 20.

“Courageous Conversations”: What Are They?
At Mercersburg Academy, we believe it is our obligation to seize opportunities to challenge our students, to seek to understand the complexities of our world, and to empower our students to think about solutions.
In that spirit, we have set aside days on campus for what we call Courageous Conversations, where we move away from our normal daily schedule and gather in small groups for open and honest discussions on important and frank topics. Along those same lines, we are marking the 50th year of coeducation at Mercersburg by shining a spotlight on gender issues and spotlighting female leaders the school has produced. We encourage members of our alumni and parent community to share their stories; read the section above to learn how to contribute your voice to the conversation.
Space for this event is limited. If you are able to attend, please click the button above to register or call 717-328-6100 by Friday, January 17.
