Mercersburg’s boys’ varsity squash team emerged victorious from an unscheduled six-week break from head-to-head competition by edging visiting Episcopal High School of Alexandria, VA, 5-4, on January 17 in the Davenport Squash Center.

Winners for the Blue Storm included Huzaifa Ibrahim ’24 (#1), Francis Betkowski ’23 (#2), Dawson Hastings ’23 (#3), Danny Adusei-Poku ’23 (#4), and Evan Howley ’22 (#6).

“Three of our players were not yet cleared for match play, so the squad had to dig deep to secure the 5-4 win, which was a testament to their commitment and determination,” said Mercersburg head coach Ryan Tyree. “More than three weeks had passed since our last match, and the boys only had three practices to prepare, so everyone was very proud of this accomplishment today.”
