Boys’ V Basketball Roars Past Broadfording

Mercersburg’s boys’ varsity basketball team cruised to a 78–37 win over local foe Broadfording Christian Academy January 25 in the Plantz Courts of Nolde Gymnasium.

The visiting Lions from Hagerstown, MD, scored the first six points of the game, but their lead didn’t last long. Darren Blocker ’22 drained a pair of first-half three pointers and Collin Metcalf ’22 added eight points to help the Blue Storm build a 35–17 halftime lead. Chris Watson ’22 caught fire in the second half, scoring 17 of his game-high 23 points after intermission.

Blocker finished with 14 points. Dawda Silva led BCA with 12 points.

Mercersburg (4–8) hosts Peddie in its first home Mid-Atlantic Prep League contest of 2022 Saturday, January 29, at 1:30 p.m.
