Boys’ V Basketball Advances to MAPL Semifinals

Mercersburg’s boys’ varsity basketball team rallied for a 53-46 win over the Hun School of Princeton in the first-round of the 2020 Mid-Atlantic Prep League Tournament February 7 in Pottstown, PA.

The No. 5-seeded Blue Storm (16-7) advances to the semifinals Saturday, February 8, where it will face the top-seeded and host Hill School. Tip-off is at 5:45 p.m.

Hun led 14-10 after the first quarter, 24-21 at halftime, and 36-35 after three periods. Let by Quintin Metcalf ’20, who scored nine of his team-high 15 points in the final quarter, the Storm erupted for 18 points in the final eight minutes and took over the game to pull away and win 53-46.

Jack Yeager ’20 hit some big shots early in the game and scored 14 points for Mercersburg. Kaylen Oweh ’20 and AJ Gray ’20 added nine points apiece.
