Boys’ JV Basketball Edges St. James

Mercersburg's boys’ JV basketball team improved its record to 3-2 with a hard-fought and well-earned 49-45 road win at St. James School January 14 in Hagerstown, MD.

The Blue Storm fought back from a 10-point third quarter deficit with an with effective full-court pressure. It was a great team win, with all players working hard and contributing at both ends of the court. 

A balanced scoring effort was led by Stephen Rice ’21 (13 points), Jad Hassoun  ’21 (nine points), Ryan Kim ’21 (eight points), Max Bratter ’21 (six points), and Kyle Kim ’22 (five points). Terrence Ji ’22 and Stanley Fang ’21 were effective rebounders, and great defense was played by Aiden Nelson ’22 and Tom Salako ’22. 

The Storm returns to action Friday, January 17, at 4 p.m. against Kiski in the Plantz Courts of Nolde Gymnasium.
