Blaine Davies Named Head Boys’ Tennis Coach
Blaine Davies, who has coached tennis at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels and spent the past three seasons as head tennis coach at Hood College in Frederick, MD, has been named Mercersburg’s head boys’ varsity tennis coach.
Davies previously served as a volunteer assistant coach for the men’s and women’s teams at Coppin State University (a Division I school in Baltimore) and an assistant coach for the women’s squad at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. He is a tennis professional at Tuscarora Tennis Club in Frederick.
He has worked for the United States Tennis Association as a recreation programs assistant in the Mid-Atlantic region and served as director of tennis at Sparrows Point Country Club in Baltimore. Davies has also worked at West Winds Tennis and Fitness, Fayetteville Racquet Club, and with TGA Premier Youth Sports. He is a PTR certified teaching professional.
Davies grew up in Richmond, VA, and was a top 50 junior in the Mid-Atlantic Section and ranked in the top 20 in Virginia in boys’ 16s and 18s. He went on to play collegiately at Virginia State University and earned a paralegal certification from the George Mason University School of Executive Education.
