Mercersburg Academy Volleyball

Mercersburg’s history in volleyball dates to 1986, when Brent Gift founded the program. The pillars of the volleyball program have long been teamwork, unity, and hustle, along with a commitment to the community. In recent years, that commitment has included the Dig Pink Tournament, an event run by the team that highlights the importance of breast-cancer awareness and contributes to cancer research.

Competition for the Blue Storm ranges from local contests and weekly rivalries to the rest of the Mid-Atlantic region, including Philadelphia and New Jersey.

The volleyball program is geared for two levels of player: the accomplished athlete prepared for the varsity level and the developing athlete ready for the junior varsity level. Our coaching staffs contribute extensive experience as athletes and mentors on both levels.

Mercersburg’s volleyball teams train and compete on the Plantz Courts, an expansive 10,000-square-foot hardwood facility that can be set with three volleyball courts. Off-court training takes place in the McDowell Fitness Center, which features contemporary equipment and programming geared for athletic development.
