Making its first appearance in the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association state tournament, Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team got a first-half hat trick from Taylor Chepren ’21 and six goals from Jill Ahlgren ’19 to move on to the quarterfinals with a 16-10 road victory over Shipley School May 17 in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
The Spring 2019 edition of the MESPY Awards was held May 16 in the Burgin Center for the Arts’ Simon Theatre. The event included team-specific awards from each of Mercersburg’s seven spring varsity squads, as well as the announcement of this season’s MESPY award winners in a number of categories.
Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team brought home some hardware for the school’s trophy case by capturing the inaugural Crossroads Lacrosse League title with a 12-8 win over rival St. James May 14 on Regents’ Field.
