The arts are a rich part of Mercersburg’s history. Students continue the tradition of alumni by participating in a variety of performances and exhibitions. From choral and instrumental ensembles to dance, theatre, and gallery shows, the work of student artists is consistently a highlight of the school calendar.
Students involved in the arts develop confidence and discover fundamental truths about who they are and where they might go in life.
Our faculty of working artists provide a strong base, and guest artists visit campus throughout the year to offer new perspectives and unique expertise.
After classes are completed on a typical day, the Burgin Center for the Arts has no shortage of visitors. Students can be found rehearsing in the dance studios, practicing an instrument, rigging lighting for a play, finishing a painting, firing a clay pot, editing digital music or photography, preparing our school newspaper, or designing our yearbook (Karux) and award-winning literary arts journal (Blue Review).
