Ahlgren’s 100th Goal Leads Girls’ V Lax to Victory
Bridget Ahlgren ’22 scored seven goals—including her 100th career goal—to lead Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team to a 16-4 win over Madeira in the annual M Cup series contest between the schools May 5 in McLean, VA.
The 100th goal of Ahlgren’s Blue Storm career came 12 minutes into the contest. In addition to her goals, she also had an assist and 10 draw controls. She reached 100 career points in the Storm’s win over Peddie back on April 23, and is the first Mercersburg player to reach 100 career goals since her older sister, Jill ’19, accomplished the feat in 2019. Bridget Ahlgren has signed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Campbell University next season.
Zarreen Sorho ’23 also had a terrific game for Mercersburg with six goals and four assists. Savannah Poe ’23 scored twice and tallied three assists, while Linley Hill ’23 had a goal and three assists. (15 of Mercersburg’s 16 goals included an assist.)
Leilani Isel-Register ’24 had 6 saves in goal.
Mercersburg (8-5 overall) visits Perkiomen School Saturday, May 7, for a 5 p.m. start in Pennsburg, PA.
