Weekends and evenings at Mercersburg are lively with events, activities, adventures, and trips.
On-campus programs are fueled by the ever-resourceful student activities committee (SAC), led by director
Trini Hoffman. The SAC brings spice to campus life with repertory theater groups, professional musicians, visiting lecturers, pizza study breaks, concerts, dances, and karaoke.
Mercersburg’s
clubs and groups also create and produce campuswide events. For example, the Stony Batter drama club puts on several plays a year; various
music groups and bands host campus concerts and shows; and the Anime Club has sponsored Dance, Dance Revolution (DDR) tournaments.
Off-campus destinations include nearby Hagerstown, Maryland, where you can catch a minor league game with the
Hagerstown Suns (a farm team for the New York Mets) or take in a performance by the
Maryland Symphony Orchestra. Other trips may take you to Washington, D.C., or Baltimore for shopping, movies, and professional theatrical events or sporting events.
Closer to campus, the surrounding Pennsylvania area offers outdoor adventures, such as winter skiing and snowboarding at
Whitetail Ski Resort. Stunning nearby state parks offer boating, hiking, camping, swimming, picnicking, fishing, hunting, and other recreational opportunities.
Visiting parents can take in antique shops, golf, historic walking tours, and much more.
