PILOTS Meeting Update
From PILOTS Chair Nancy Moore Banta '77, P '06, '09, '11
The annual fall meeting of PILOTS was held during Family Weekend on Sept. 27. In addition to meeting many of you there, I also enjoyed chatting with fellow parents over dinner, at an athletic event, or simply walking across campus. I appreciate your input, enthusiasm and ideas.
Many of you may not realize that PILOTS is a very young organization. Its direction now and for the future will be determined by you, the parent community. Supporting the Alumni and Development Office and Admission Office remain two important areas, and PILOTS is expanding to support the school in other ways. PILOTS also exists to support parents.
Parent volunteers have made calls in the past few weeks, and will be working the phones again in late October and November, asking for your support. A gift from you will be used to help make your students’ Mercersburg 2008–2009 experience their best yet. Thank you in advance for your support. Many parents find that giving annually to Mercersburg is a significant way to express their satisfaction with their student's Mercersburg experience...
“A gift every year to the annual giving program exemplifies our support of Mercersburg's commitment to making the School a place where our children can thrive and become the best they can be." Claire Birney P'09
Gifts from parents help to protect and enrich Mercersburg as a place of discovery, intellectual integrity, and excellence. Your gift not only provides critical support to the School's operating budget, it demonstrates a very special vote of confidence in the work being done here.
