Mercersburg

Many parents find that giving annually to Mercersburg is a significant way to express their satisfaction with their student's Mercersburg experience...

"We found Mercersburg to be such a warm and welcoming community that it made the decision to send our children to the Academy easy. The school and community were very open and willing to work with us and Hannah to make her experience there the very best it could be. Mercersburg has been a unique and beneficial experience for both of our children, and we would like to help provide this same opportunity for other students, that is why we give."                 "Contributing annually is our small way to give back to the welcoming, enriching and enduring Mercersburg community.  Parental gifts  are a critical building block in ensuring Mercersburg's accessibility not only for our children attending today but also for tomorrow's generation of students"    Jim Rowe and Lisa Adams P'09

"When you are part of a team each person needs to contribute to the success of that team.  A gift every year to the annual giving program exemplifies our support of Mercersburg's commitment to making the School a place where our children can thrive and become the best they can be."   Claire Birney P'09

"My husband Dennis and I know that we have given our children the best start we possibly could and Mercersburg has been a significant factor in their development.  Giving to Mercersburg shows that we value the School and the unparalleled experience it provides.  Patti Nitterhouse P'06, '08

Senior Parent Gift

This year’s gift will be especially meaningful, as it will represent the inaugural class to receive permanent recognition in Alumni Hall, a significant addition to the Mercersburg campus that will serve the class of 2009 far into the future. Projected to open in late 2010, Alumni Hall will house the Alumni and Development Office, along with a Welcome Center for visiting alums and parents that will provide guidebooks, schedules, and other resources to make each visit to campus memorable. The Senior Parent Gift Co-Chairs, Claire Birney, Harriett and Neal Trangucci, would like each member of the Class of 2009 acknowledged in Alumni Hall - creating a lasting legacy to their time spent at Mercersburg.

The Senior Parents have two goals for the Senior Parent Gift initiative:

 1)  To raise $120,000 to fund renovations to Lenfest Hall including improvements to create quiet and comfortable spaces to study outside of the dorm with new reading tables, chairs and lamps. Parents would also like to support the library in its efforts to increase the DVD catalog to 3,000 titles, and each new DVD will include a label recognizing the parents of the Class of 2009.

 2) To be the first class to achieve 100% participation for the Senior Parent Gift - to have each family contribute and have the name of each individual student listed in Alumni Hall will leave a lasting tribute to the generosity and support of senior class parents in honor of their children. Any gift or pledge made by parents of seniors from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 will count toward the Senior Parent Gift.
