Women's Winter Track
a full slate of high school invitationals hosted at college facilities. The season includes the MAPL Championships and, for athletes who qualify, the State Championship meet with athletes from both public and private schools. The team also competes in the Penn State Invitational, run at one of the premier indoor track facilities in the nation, featuring a Mondo hydraulically banked track. The Track & Field team makes the most of opportunities to train throughout the winter. Most days the team can be found outdoors training on the track. When darkness falls or when conditions are icy, the athletes use hallways in the gymnasium for drills, hurdling, and starts. The team regularly makes use of the school’s extensive fitness center that includes weight machines, treadmills, elliptical trainers, and even a suspended track. Athletes practice high jump and shot put in the gymnasium at designated times. In addition, twice a week groups of athletes travel to nearby Hagerstown Community College to train at their field house where they can practice pole vault, high jump, hurdles, and running.
